Yes, this campground is steep. However, it is an excellent location for exploring Asheville and the surrounding area. Sites are terraced and mostly level - some pull-thrus were lower on the ends. I was in a perfectly level back-in site. Personnel were very friendly and helpful. All sites have trees so my XM radio wouldn't work. Some sites are tricky to get into if you have a large RV. Tent sites and camping cabins are in a separate section where you feel like you backpacking in the woods. They are building a new section up the hill that will have great views. Don't plan on it for a year or two. Limited activities for children. Most campers seemed to be older. Excellent Wi-Fi and cable TV.
Nice campground, but tight to move around in. Very well shaded. WiFi is advertised but has spotty uptime - major equipment problems this winter. Didn't work at all during our stay. Lots of long term people staying for the winter. In mid-Jan, campground was 75%+ full.
We used this campground as a base for exploring the area. There's a public beach across the road from the campground. Road wasn't too busy in winter. Rec room just remodeled - very nice with pool table, public computer, and kitchen. Laundry was very clean. Lady at front desk was very helpful and cheerful, made you feel welcome to be there. Designated pet walk areas. WiFi and cable TV worked well.
Great location for visiting the Amana Colonies and Cedar Rapids. Not much in the way of campground activities expect during special events weekends. Sites are good sized but it's one big field so there's no shade. Some trees have been planted but they are very small. Staff was very friendly and helpful with information and suggestions.
This is a great place to overnight while traveling. It's a Shell station with 6 pull through RV lanes. Full hookups and WiFi. Station also includes a Subway and Burger King. Open 24 hours with security cameras. About 1/4 mile off I-39 so noise isn't a problem. Cable TV was crystal clear with plenty of stations. We were in the last slot so WiFi was a little weak but still usable.
Very small campground. Has a number of long term units in place. Owners very helpful and polite. We were in Scottsboro to go to Unclaimed Baggage so this was an ideal location. If you want a comfortable place to stay this is good.
Convienent location to Niagara's wine area. About 2/3 of the campground is full time residents. Some are elegant, others are dumps. Sites are large and well shaded. Friends were in a tent site that was a long walk to the showers. Hookups require long cords and hoses. Electric & water was on one side of site and sewer was on other. Campground borders an orchard that gets noisy in season. Pool was closed after Labor Day. Entry is gated and requires displaying pass to get in.
Campground is a few miles outside Williamsburg so it's a 15 minute drive to any activities. Setting is rural but easy access to interstate. Individual sites are reasonable size but all are close together. Shaded sites in the trees are primitive only. Nice dog run but it's a long walk from sites. Very few children activities. Good base of operations when touring the area. It's not a destination campground. Very friendly staff.
Good variety of sites to meet different preferences. Waterfront sites with boat docks are great for boaters. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Moderate drive (5 miles) to other activities in area. WiFi not available in all areas of campground. Limited phone hookups in building for modem access.
